South Sudan's main opposition party, SPLM-IO, has raised alarm over what it says is a plan to assassinate its detained leader, Dr. Riek Machar.
The party says it received information from a reliable source but did not provide evidence to support the claim.
The allegation was made in an urgent statement released on Friday by Oyet Nathaniel, the acting chairman of SPLM-IO.
According to the statement, the alleged plot could take place while President Salva Kiir is away from the capital, Juba, on a visit to the Bahr el Ghazal region.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Oyet said the information came from a source in Juba but refused to reveal the person's identity.
"You want my source? I will not tell you my source," Oyet said. "It's a credible source. Reliable source."READ FULL STORY HERE.
