President Kiir Orders Major Military and Cabinet Shake-Up in South Sudan

President Salva Kiir Mayardit has announced a significant reshuffle affecting both the country’s top military leadership and key cabinet positions, marking one of the most notable government changes in recent months.

The restructuring touches the defense command, finance docket, and agriculture ministry, signaling what observers describe as a broad realignment within both the civilian administration and the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF).

In the military leadership changes, Dr. Paul Nang Majok has been appointed as the new Undersecretary for Veteran Affairs at the Ministry of Defense. He replaces Gen. Santino Deng Wol in that role.
